Places of interest in Wood Green, N22
The station opened on 19 September 1932 when the first section of the Cockfosters extension from Finsbury Park was opened.
Unusually for a shopping centre, the A105 road runs directly through the complex, allowing many of the stores to have entrances directly onto the street. The two halves of the mall are linked by bridges at first and second floor level.[6] The centre is six storeys high, but only the lower two floors are occupied by shops; the upper floors make up a housing complex known as "Sky City".[7]
Prior to the Romans' arrival, Haringey was part of a large area covering Essex and Middlesex which was home to a celtic tribe called Trinobantes.
A visit to the caves will include a spoken guided tour full of interesting information.
Much of Sidcup etc. is typical 1930s suburbia, primarily owner occupied semi-detached and detached housing, but it retains many parks and open spaces hinting at the great estates and large homes which once stood in the area.
